Obituary for PAMELA J. SCHUETZ

Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 12 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Debra Huffman and Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of Crossroads Country Church, officiating. Pamela J. Schuetz was born on September 25, 1943 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Dorothy "Maxine" Wilcox and J.C. Guinn. She spent most of her childhood in Akron, Iowa living with Maxine and her stepfather, Floyd and her siblings. Pam graduated from Akron High School in 1961. Pam spent the last 25 years living in Ruidoso, New Mexico. She passed away in Amarillo, Texas on August 08, 2016 after a lengthy battle with dementia. Pam married David Schuetz on April 20, 1974 in Harrisonville, Mo. They spent their time on many grand adventures including traveling to Hawaii, living in Alaska, riding their motorcycle while enjoying the beauty of God's creation, trekking to the mountains of Colorado, and raising their children: Tami, Mark, and Brian. Even when her dementia had gotten severe, Pam always was ready to jump on the back of the motorcycle and ride with the wind. Pam had many jobs in her lifetime that ranged from legal secretary to title officer and finally, she found her calling and most rewarding as a real estate agent in Ruidoso. During her first year working for Bill Pippin Real Estate, she was recognized as a multi-million dollar seller. She worked hard to meet the needs of her clients and was well loved for her generosity, tireless effort, and kind heart. Those who knew Pam well, were aware of her avid love for reading. She was a wicked crossword puzzle enthusiast and had a beautiful soprano singing voice. Many memories were shared with the family of singing in church with her grandfather whom she adored. First Baptist Church in Ruidoso Downs was her last church home. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather, a younger brother, Jerry, and her grandson, Chris Hinders. She is survived by her husband, David of Amarillo; her daughter Tami Hinders and husband, David of Canyon; her sons, Mark Schuetz (Debra) of Los Angeles, CA and Brian Schuetz of Springfield, Mo.; a granddaughter, Calli Farmer and husband Danny of Carrollton; her grandsons David Schuetz, and wife Tabitha of Indiana, Cory Schuetz of Texas, and Tyler Schuetz of Los Angeles, CA; great grandchildren Elliott Farmer, Elyzabeth, Logan, and Alanah Schuetz, and a great granddaughter that is expected in November; her siblings Cheryl Henneous, Terry Wilcox and wife, Stacy, Steve Wilcox and wife Liz, and Debbie Anderson and husband Butch; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 415 W. Eighth St. Suite 300, Amarillo, TX 79101.
