Nancy was born in Shamrock, Texas to Amy J Kutch Hallmark and Archie Cullen Hallmark. She moved with her family to Dalhart when she was fifteen where she later met Burton Doyle Hanbury. They were married on August 27, 1950.

Nancy’s faith and her family were central to everything she did. She had a passion for teaching all of her life. She loved water sports and sports of all kinds – especially when it involved her grandchildren. And, dachshunds made her smile. Her heart seemed happiest when she was in Colorado at the family cabin – sitting on her rock, looking out at the mountains during prayer and worship. Nancy graduated from the University of Texas, Austin in 1951. She worked with CASA 69, Keep Dalhart Beautiful, the Bicentennial Committee, and was awarded jointly with Doyle as Citizen of the Year in Dalhart in 2002.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Doyle, her brother, Bruce Hallmark, one son, Ronnie, and one great grandchild, Ty Weldon.
