Obituary for NADINE GABEHART

Nadine Gabehart, 69, of Canyon, died Sunday, November 4, 2001 at her home. Services will be at 3:00 PM on Thursday, November 8, 2001 at Brooks Chapel, Canyon, Texas, with Rev. Marty Hamrick, pastor of Polk Street Methodist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Nadine Gabehart, 69, of Canyon, died at her home on November 4, 2001. She was born on February 21, 1932 near Butler, Oklahoma, the second of nine children, to Steve and Dottie Prince Maggard. She graduated from Binger High School, Binger, Oklahoma in 1948. She married Albert Gabehart on October 22, 1947 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. Moving to the Olton community in 1948, she and Albert farmed near Circle. Albert and Nadine moved to Canyon in 1975. Nadine was a member of Friends For Inspiration in Canyon, a supporter of St. Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo, and a breast cancer survivor. She brought love and joy to her family, her home, and her friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-six years, her parents, and three brothers, Willie Maggard, Calvin Maggard, and Donald Maggard. Survivors include one son, Dr. Alan Dale Gabehart, of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Ruby, and husband, James Carlile, of Iredell, TX, and Donna, and husband, Tim Terry, of Oklahoma City, OK; three brothers, Joe, and wife, Eileen Maggard, of Onalaska, WA, Jackie, and wife, Loretta Maggard, of Hobart, OK, and Bo Maggard, of Phoenix, AZ; one sister-in-law, Jolene Maggard, of Renton, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family requests memorial be to the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, 1500 Wallace Blvd., Amarillo, TX 79106 or to your favorite charity.
