Obituary for MILDRED REESE

Mildred Reese, 81, of Canyon, died Tuesday, November 20, 2001 at her home in Canyon. She will be interred at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 24, 2001 at Valhalla Cemetery in Belleville, Illinois. A Memorial Service is planned for 3:00 pm, December 1st, at the Hill Chapel on the Campus at WTAMU for friends and family. Mildred was born on January 24, 1920 in Renchler, IL. In high school, she was a member of the city champion baseball team. She married Robert Reese on Dec. 26, 1945 in Belleville, IL. After the war, while her husband was in the Air Force, she and her family lived in Japan. Having owned her own beauty shop, she was for most of her life a homemaker, wife and mother. Mildred was an avid football fan, and especially loved high school football and the Dallas Cowboys. Since moving to Canyon, Mildred was a great supporter of the Canyon High School Soaring Pride Band, the Canyon High School Theatre and Music departments, and the Canyon Eagles football team. Mildred was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Windsor, CT, and attended First Presbyterian Church in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, Pearl Emilie Klotz, and her parents, Philip and Edna Klotz. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Hilton, of Canyon, and Melissa Jackson, of Tucson, Arizona, four grandchildren, Jordan Domanski, Candace Jackson, Adam Hilton and John Robert Jackson, and her sister, Bernice Garner, of Evansville, IL. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Mildred's name to the Crown of Texas Hospice, whose loving kindness and compassion blessed their last days together.
