Obituary for Melony Zea Swasey

Melony Zea Swasey, 65, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Private burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery.

Melony Zea was born on May 29, 1955 in Amarillo to Charles Z. and Bettie Jean Hancock Moore. She attended Canyon High School and her adventurous, free spirit led her to Boston in the 1970’s. She loved her time in Boston and then she and her son moved to Sedona, Arizona in 1988. She met Chad B. Swasey in Sedona and they were married on December 1, 2001. Melony gave her life to Christ in Sedona and she loved the Lord and her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Melony Zea gave abundantly of herself as a mother to her two sons and as a caregiver to her 86 year-old mother. Her passion was caring for her family that she loved so dearly. She will be lovingly remembered for her generous, kind, loving, understanding, patient, and giving spirit.

Melony Zea is preceded in death by her father, Charles Z. Moore, a son Pete Zachariah Stewart, aunt, Deloris Hancock, uncle, Clyde Hancock, niece, Amanda ‘Mandy’ Etheridge, and nephew, Eli Moore.
