Obituary for Melinda Marie Rickwartz
Melinda Marie Rickwartz, 63, of Claude, passed away at home on Thursday, December 14, 2023. Services will be at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Byron Williamson officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday at Wayside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Monday, December 18, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.
Melinda was born on May 15, 1960 in Canyon to Darral and Linda Watson. She was a 1978 graduate of Claude High School and received her Bachelor of Arts in Business from West Texas State University in 1982. She married Bernard Rickwartz in Canyon on November 2, 1985.
Melinda worked as a Medical Transcriptionist until she retired. She was raised on a farm and continued to love the outdoors and living a simple life in the country. She adored her family above all, and dearly loved her dogs and gardening.
Melinda was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Darla Hix and a brother-in-law, Wade Bell.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bernard ‘Barnie’ Rickwartz; her daughter, Morgan Rickwartz and significant other, Eloy Beltran; her son, Jacob Rickwartz and significant other, Yvonne Francies; two sisters, Kandi Bell and Amelia Bullock and husband, Tom; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 81795, Austin, Texas 78708.
