Obituary for MARY MAGDALENE BRINKMAN JACKSON

Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Phu Phan, pastor of St. Ann"s Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson died in Canyon August 10, 2004, three days short of her 106th birthday. She was born to Mary Magdalene (Hueve) and Herman Brinkman on August 13, 1898 in Miller City, Ohio. She moved with her family to Rhineland, Texas in 1904, and then to St Francis, Texas in 1912. She married Earle D Jackson on April 18, 1918 in Amarillo. Mrs. Jackson worked throughout her life in Amarillo including a stint as an ordinance worker at Pantex during World War II. In her later years she worked as a Nanny and caregiver for many Amarillo families. She was a longtime member of St. Ann"s Catholic Church. She spent her last years at home in the company of her beloved books, flowers, sewing and grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters. Survivors incude two daughters, Erlene Tinsley, and husband Ray, of Canyon, and Jeanet Mann and husband, Maurice, of Amarillo; one sister, Bea Crews, of Canyon; eight grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
