Obituary for Marilyn Mae Schuette Schrib
Marilyn Mae Schuette Schrib, 70, of Canyon, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Rev. John Elser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Brooks Chapel.
Marilyn was born on March 17, 1953 at the Neblett Hospital in Canyon to Bill and Della (Hull) Schuette. She was a 1971 graduate of Canyon High School and attended West Texas State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1981. She enjoyed her nursing career for 29+ years with her favorite memories being at St. Anthony’s Hospital as a surgical nurse.
Marilyn loved her childhood on the farm, growing up working beside her dad. She had a passion for the farming life. After her retirement from nursing, she later became a crop adjuster which took her back to farming. She enjoyed helping other farmers during their times of need.
Marilyn and Gary Schrib have known each other since grade school. They finally married on June 8, 2007. She had a love for windmills and the clicking sound they make. She also loved her life on ‘the hill’ along with all things Canyon Eagles. Her family was the most important thing to her, and Marilyn will be lovingly remembered as a wife, bonus Mom, favorite cousin, friend, and someone that would do anything for anyone. Just give her an assignment and consider it done!
Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, David Schuette, in 1992, her first husband, Bill Ham, in 2006, and her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Schrib; three bonus sons, Jim Bob Ham, Tully Schrib, and Jeremy Schrib; two bonus daughters, Debra Bethany and Misti Huntley; eleven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be to the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery Fund, 2600 4th Avenue, Canyon, Texas 79015.
