The family will receive friends on Monday, April 12 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at 7331 Parkway, Amarillo, TX 79119 in the Greenways addition. Born in Cushing, OK in 1922 to Fred and Eva Beasley. They moved to East Texas by Longview at an early age so her father could work in the East Texas Oil fields. She graduated from Longview High School in 1940. Many tough times and good times were had in the Longview/Springhill area growing up with her family. She attended Kilgore Jr College and became one of the first Kilgore Rangerettes. She found an interest in the medical field and became a Medical Technologist. While at college, she met and married AJ Luquette 1953. They moved to Corpus Christi, TX so AJ could continue his career as a coach. All 5 children were born at Spawn hospital in Corpus Christi, TX with lots of fun times spent at the beach or atheletic functions. They spent some time in Brenham, TX where AJ became the Athletic Director, more games and athletics and friends made. They moved to Bryan TX where AJ completed his Doctorate and Margaurette worked the animal research lab at A&M University, more games, athletics and more new friends. They moved to Canyon TX in 1969 to raise their family after AJ accepted a position at West Texas State College. They moved into the house in Canyon where Margaurette resided until 1990 when she began traveling to keep up with her favorite people - her kids and her grandkids. The house was always full with the kids, their friends and students from W.T. She re-trained for her Medical Technician certification in 1975. She went to work for Pantex in the 1980's. She retired from Pantex to help care for her mother in the late 1980's. After retirement she continued to be a world traveler visiting family all over and seeing the world. Whether you knew her as Maggie, Aunt Sissy, Nana, Aunt Nana, Marguarette or Mom, her kindness touched the hearts of all who crossed her path. Although there were only 5 children - Marguarette continued to be 2nd mom and Nana to friends and the grandkids friends and strangers alike - there was always a houseful. She kept up with all of her family members all over and would be there to share congratulations and happy birthdays or sorrows and much love. She loved her hugs, her cards, her newspapers and reading. She loved the spring with its beautiful flowers and the fall with its all its changes. She was much loved and will be missed dearly and always remembered with her cute Nana isms and her secret ingredients.
