Obituary for Lydell Owens
Lydell Owens, 60, of Canyon passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Living Water Christian Fellowship Church with Jeff Stocker officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at Brooks Chapel.
Lydell was born on June 20, 1960 in Amarillo to L.B. and Karen Vessels Owens. He was a graduate of Caprock High School. He married Pat Yung on April 12, 1996 and loved his job as a conductor for the railroad.
Lydell was a member of Living Water Christian Fellowship, Emmaus and Kairos Communities and Children’s Bus Ministry at Southwest Baptist Church. He loved riding his bicycle, refinishing furniture and especially enjoyed computers and technology. He was an avid University of Texas, Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR fan.
Lydell was preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, Jewel Vessels, and a brother, Terry Owens. Survivors include his wife, Pat; his son, Tyler Owens and wife, Gus of Canyon; two grandchildren, Ryddeck and Reese; his brother, Cody Owens and wife, Kate of Alabama; and three nieces, Grace, Eryn, and Allison.
