Obituary for LUNA KATHRYN GRAHAM

Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Mark T. Henslee, Pastor of Westminister"s Presbyterian Church in Lawton, OK, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Castro County Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dimmitt, TX. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 21, 2007 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Brooks Chapel. Luna Kathryn Davis was born on December 8, 1925 to Jesse Leo and Mary Snipes Davis, on her grandparent"s farm five miles south of Mangum, Oklahoma. She is a graduate of Andrews High School where she was salutatorian and then attended McMurry College. On December 23, 1943 she married Bill Graham Jr. of Dimmitt, Texas. She and Bill lived on the family farm southeast of Dimmitt until moving to McLean in 1974. She had been active in the McLean United Methodist Church being in charge of making the dressing for the Methodist"s Women"s Election Day fund raiser for the past 20 years until poor health slowed her. She had taught an adult Sunday School class. She had been active in the Golden Spread and Rushing Wind Emmaus Community. Not only had she sponsored her children, grandchildren, and several friends to go on the Walk, but had been Lay Director and had worked on many teams. She loved her Bridge Club friends in Dimmitt and McLean. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2004, a son-in-law, Robert Jodie Minnick; four brothers, Leo, Leroy, Zane, and Michael Davis; and a sister, Isla Mary Davis. Survivors include her children, Mary Minnick, of Canyon, Kathy Henslee and husband, Mark, of Lawton, OK, and Perry David Graham and wife, Kim, of Canyon; grandchildren, Gina Hurst, of Amarillo, Sarah Thrasher and husband, Luke, of Canadian, Paul Gabel and wife, Milagro, of Salta, Argentina, James Gabel, of Canyon, Will Henslee and Rachel Brown, of Friday Harbor, Washington, Jay Graham and wife, Amber, of Happy, and Holly Young and husband, Chris, of Lubbock; brothers, Thomas (Red) Davis and wife, Billie, Floyd Davis and wife, Nancy, and Charles Davis and wife, Joyce, all of Andrews; sister-in-law, Dorothy Graham Sheffy, of Tulia; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be sent to Canyon Healthcare, 15 Hospital Drive, Canyon, TX 79015 or a favorite charity. The family wishes to thank her compassionate and loving caretakers at Canyon Healthcare Center.
