Obituary for LOUISE REDDING HUNT

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Rev. Gayle Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Effie Louise Redding was born on April 19, 1919 to Louis and Lilly Mae Hatchell Redding in Oil Parish of Caddo, Oil City, Louisiana. She went to be with the Lord on October 31, 2004. She attended school at Prairie Grove in Saltillo, Texas. She then attended East Texas State College and West Texas State University. She married Dewey L. Hunt on August 18, 1934 in Saltillo. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on August 18, 2004. Louise was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She was an excellent homemaker and an avid flower gardener. Louise retired from West Texas State University in 1984. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Cynthia Troxell Embery, and a son-in-law, Cloyce D. Troxell. Survivors include her husband, Dewey L. Hunt, of Canyon; two daughters, Gloria Troxell , of Shamrock, and Christine DuVall, and husband, David, of Amarillo; three granddaughters, Rhonda Sanders, and husband, Jerry, of Shamrock, Kristy Martin, and husband, Calvin, of Amarillo, and Dawn Herrera, and husband, Danny, of Oklahoma City, OK; seven great grandchildren, Shaun Sanders, of Shamrock, Bree Ann Glover, and husband, J. R., of Austin, Justin Embery, of Shamrock, Brandt Martin, of Amarillo, Chelsea Martin, of Amarillo, Logan Herrera, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Danielle Herrera, of Oklahoma City, OK; and one great great granddaughter, Reagan Glover, of Austin. The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer Association, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
