Louis J. Wieck, 90, of Canyon, died Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Canyon. Services will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 5, 2003 St. Ann's Catholic Church with Rev. Phu Phan, pastor, officiating. There will be a prayer service at 7:00 PM on Friday, April 4, at Brooks Chapel with Deacon Bill Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Umbarger, Texas. Mr. Wieck was born on July 23, 1912 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska to Louis and Mary Liekhus Wieck. He attended school in Umbarger and married Rose Friemel in Umbarger in 1933. She preceded him in death in 1968. He operated Wieck Repair and Supply in Umbarger for forty-five years. He married Mary Grabber in Umbarger in 1971. He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church of Canyon. He was also preceded in death by one son, Dennis, in 1949, one daughter, Patricia, in 1972, one brother, John Wieck, and two sisters, Elizabeth Skypala and Clara Reinart. Survivors include his wife, Mary Wieck, of the home; one daughter, Janice McFarland, of Kingwood, TX; three sons, Melvin Wieck and Fred Wieck, both of Canyon, and Robert Wieck, of Amarillo; two brothers, Joe Wieck and Ed Wieck, both of Canyon; one sister, Josephine Friemel, of Canyon; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
