Obituary for LOU PARKER

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 9, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church of Amarillo, officiating, assisted by Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor of First Baptist of Happy. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Mrs. Parker will lie in state at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Lou Parker was born on April 12, 1933 to Beatrice Perkins Brown in Tahoka, Texas. She attended Horace Mann in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1950. She married her husband of fifty years, Johnny Parker, on March 12, 1955 in Amarillo and was a resident of Happy for 43 years. She took over the bookkeeping department at the Canyon Co-op for 19 years, retiring to chase after her grandchildren. She cared for many of her friends and family in Happy and Amarillo and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy. Survivors include her husband, Johnny Parker, of Happy; two sons, Tim Parker, and wife, Stephanie, of Canyon, and Billy Ray Parker, and wife, JoNell, of Amarillo; two daughters, Angie Noel, and husband, Brian, of Canyon, and Mollie Mitchell, and husband, Roger, of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren, Callie and Evan Parker, of Canyon, Parker, Payton, and Preston Noel, of Canyon, Max and Macy Mitchell, of Amarillo, and Lizzie and Zane Parker, of Amarillo.
