Obituary for LOU KIRBY

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Brooks Chapel with Lynn Money and Todd Bissett officiating. Mrs. Kirby was born in North Buena Vista, Iowa December 24, 1924 to John Engling and Bernadette Brimeyer. Meme was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Nothing pleased her more than to be surrounded by her family. At each family gathering she made her famous home made bread and soup. Meme seldom missed any activity her children or grandchildren were involved in. She was a servant all her life, She was an avid arts and crafts enthusiast and can be credited for giving many people their start in business. She was well-known for her sense of humor and her giving spirit, always concerned for others. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends....and they rise up and call her blessed. She was a resident of Midland for several years. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ and numerous arts and crafts clubs. Harold and Lou were members of the Good Sam camping club. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include her husband, Harold, of sixty years; children, Anita Bissett (Geoff), of Brownfield, Jerry Kirby, of Atlanta. Texas, Dee Kirby, of Abilene, Texas; and Teena Hall (Dennis) of Canyon; eleven brothers and sisters, grandchildren, Clayton Bissett of Abilene, Todd Bissett (Rachel) of Amarillo, Kaela Bissett of Lubbock, Tracy Porras (Albert) of San Angelo, Tanya (Brian) Thornburg of Anna Texas, Terri (Gary) Pittman of San Angelo, and their Mother Carolyn Kirby of San Agelio, Amanda Sappington (Jarrett of Canyon, Kendra and Kathlyn Hall of Canyon; and great grandchildren, Chynna and McKenzie Kinnermon, Connor Thornburg and Dakota Porras. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice PO Box 950 Amarillo, Texas 79176 or Abilene Christian University Adams-Anderson Scholarship Fund.
