Lon Ed Conner, 69, of Denton, passed away on August 17, 2020.
Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Living Water Christian Fellowship with Trent Sisemore, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 20 at Brooks Chapel.
Lon was born in Canyon on November 7, 1950 to Ed Conner and Joan Byars Conner. He grew up helping his granddaddy on the family farm and spent his summers mowing for Dreamland Cemetery. He attended both Tascosa and Canyon High schools and went on to graduate from West Texas State University.
He met and married his wife, Beverly Anne Appling, August 29, 1971. Soon after marriage, they moved to Hereford where he was the pastor of Frio Baptist Church. He went on to have a successful professional career and was even more successful in his family life. He was immensely proud of his children and the families they created. His most favorite thing was cheering on his grandkids in everything they participated in. He was so proud to have the title, “Popie.”
Lon was preceded in death by his mother, father and a son-in-law, Jody Burnett.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly Anne Conner; two sons, Joshua Conner and wife Michelle, Wade Conner and wife Ashley; his daughter, Micah Gearn and husband Sha; his prized possessions his grandkids, Kade, Mikaelyn, Brianna, Clayton, Rylan, Milton, Tucker, Adyson, Jackson, and Bennett; a brother, Guy Conner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
