Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Enns officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Linda Griffin was born on January 23, 1954 in Breckenridge, Texas to Charles and Martha Richardson Hester. She received her Bachelor of Education degree from West Texas State University. She was a former teacher and caregiver for her father. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. Linda loved to read, listen to Christian music and do bead crafting. She was a caring and gentle person who loved the Lord. She enjoyed camping with her father and playing with her companion dog, Michaela. She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Hester, in 2008. Survivors include her father, Charles A. Hester; her brother, Chuck Hester and wife, Susan, of Canyon; two sisters, Barbara Watkins and husband, Phil, of Amarillo and Joni Hester, of Frisco; three nieces, Emily Lee and husband, Rusty, of Canyon, Abby Baker and husband, Joe, of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Chelsea Williams and husband, John, of Conroe; an aunt, Dorris Noakes, of Cheyenne, WY; and numerous cousins, great nephews and great nieces. The family suggests memorials be to the First United Methodist Church, Kitchen Committee, 1818 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
