Obituary for LILLIAN MONICA FRIEMEL

Rosary will be 7:00 P.M. Friday, July 9 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Bill Dorsey and Raymond Artho, officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 10 at St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Umbarger with Rev. George Kalampatt, pastor, and Rev. Daniel Dreher, officiating. Interment will be at St. Mary"s Catholic Cemetery in Umbarger. Lillian Monica Friemel was born December 16, 1928 in Carson County, Texas to Frank and Clara Detten Grabber. She graduated from Umbarger High School in 1947. She married Richard E. Friemel in Umbarger, Texas on August 24, 1949. Lillian was a homemaker, and she loved to cook, sew, and quilt. Lillian was a member of St. Mary"s Catholic Church, St. Mary"s Altar Society and Christian Mothers. She loved her church and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. Her greatest joy was her family and her music. She played the piano and the accordion. The family wants to give a special thank you to all of Lillian"s wonderful caregivers, Sam Luedke, Dee Ann Lewis, BJ Elrod, and Peter Willis, for taking such good care of her. She was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin and Gerard; daughter, Rene; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Richard E. Friemel; three daughters, Jeanette Bezner and husband, Frank, of Bushland, Evelyn Detten and husband, Paul, of Panhandle, Valerie Kuhnert and husband, Charles, of Umbarger; a son, Robert Friemel and wife, Karen, of Umbarger; twenty four grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; three brothers, John Grabber, Bernard Grabber, Ed Grabber, all of Umbarger, and two sisters, Sister Teresa Grabber, of San Antonio, Texas, and Bernice Grabber Tintes, of Belgrade, Minnesota. The family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Right To Life, c/o Mary Jo Monroe, 1610 S. Travis, Amarillo, TX 79102; or to the Catholic Student Center, 2610 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015.
