Obituary for Leta Rolen

Leta Rolen, 70, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Pastor Steve Belote officiating. Burial will follow in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Brooks Chapel.

Leta was born on August 18, 1950 in Canyon to Elmer and Elizabeth Cranmer. She married Larry Rolen in Canyon on January 16, 1982. Leta received her bachelor’s degree from WTAMU while working in the Computer Science Department and continued as a telecommunications operator at WT for many years.
Leta had a love for animals, especially horses. She loved riding and was a member of the Rolling Hills Riding Club. She also enjoyed playing softball and traveling. She cherished her time with her family and friends and will be lovingly remembered for her gracious spirit.

Leta is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Nathan Christopher, and four siblings, Dorothy Masten, Walter Cranmer, Edgar Cranmer, and Sharon McCarley. Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Larry Rolen of Amarillo; four children, Larry Rolen, II of Amarillo, Diana Tucek and husband, Roy of Canyon, Barbara Rolen of Wausau, WI, and Michael Rolen and fiancé, Kim of Amarillo; sister, Peggy Ferguson and husband, Jerry of Canyon; seven grandchildren, Larry Rolen, III, Mariah Williams, Matthew Tucek, Taylor Tucek, Nate Tucek, Gabrielle Revoir, and Desiree Revoir; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109 or to ASPCA, 11901 S. Coulter St., Amarillo, TX 79119.
