Obituary for LEONA COILE

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 4 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Rev. Paul Burwash, pastor, and Rick Bloodworth, minister of Happy Church of Christ, officiating. Burial is at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon. Leona Coile was born October 10, 1922 in Honeygrove, Texas to Luther and Mamie Cuttrell Gee. Leona married Truly V. Coile on January 18, 1941 at Honeygrove, Texas and in 1952 they moved to Happy. She was a housewife that loved to cross stitch. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy and the Arney Community Club. Leona worked at the Happy school cafeteria for ten years and the Nell Martin Dry Goods Store. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truly V. Coile, June 8, 1973; a daughter, Shirley Herring, July 3, 1976; sisters, Alphia Wade and Mineola Coile; brothers, Charlie and Earl Gee. Survivors include her son, L.V. Coile and wife, Cathy, of Happy; daughter, Marilyn Johnson and husband, Clyde, of Happy; sisters, Maggie Adams, of Conroe, Doris Davis, of Canyon; grandchildren, Wes Coile and wife, Vicky, of Happy, Guy Coile and wife, Janet, of Happy, Mike Coile and wife, Kimber, of Happy, Michelle McDowell and husband, Toby, of Tulia, Allan Herring, of Florida, Mark Herring, of Plainview, Leah Valdez and husband, George, of Brownwood, Sonya Terry and husband, Mark, of Kingwood, Vance Johnson and wife, Holly, of Amarillo; and fifteen great grandchildren. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Happy Fire Department, PO Box 216, Happy, TX 79042.
