Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 31 at Dreamland Cemetery. Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 31 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. David L. Lowrie, Jr., pastor, and Doug Moore, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Friday, January 30 at Brooks Chapel. Larry Porter was born September 3, 1935 to Ervin and Leola House Porter in Canyon. Larry"s career included 10 years of farming with his father-in-law, Ray Moore at Spearman, Texas. He was a claims adjuster for 15 years and office manager for 15 years in Amarillo and Ft. Worth, Texas. Larry was a member of the First Baptist Church of Canyon. Survivors include his wife, Gayle Porter, of the home; a daughter, Pamela Kay Porter, of Amarillo; a son, Curt Porter and wife, Teresa, of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Ashley and Kaylee Porter. The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 1717 4th Avenue, Canyon, TX 79015, or Hospice of the Southwest, 1301 S. Coulter, Ste. 404, Amarillo, TX 79106.
