Larry was born in Turkey, TX, and always boasted that his first haircut was by the barber/ musician Bob Wills. He was a salesman his entire career in the agricultural pesticide/fertilizer industry, most of which was with Bayer Agriculture Chemical Division. He was respected by many ranchers and farmers in New Mexico, Oklahoma, and the Texas Panhandle for his expertise and knowledge. On many occasions he was highly recognized by Bayer as an outstanding representative.
Mozelle was born in Gasoline, TX, now part of the Quitaque community. She was valedictorian of her QHS class of 1954, where she was captain of the basketball team. For many years she worked in the banking industry starting at Western National Bank of Amarillo, groomed into management by Mr. Whittenburg. Her last years before retirement were with Herring Bank where she was VP of the Church Bonds and Trust Department. After retirement, she worked at WTAMU as a Dean's Administrative Assistant at the age of 77.
As a result of Larry's career, the family moved many times. Locations included Abernathy, Hale Center, and Plainview, then to Moline and Andalusia, Illinois, Perry, Georgia, then returning to Texas in Amarillo, followed by Hereford before settling in Canyon where they lived almost 40 years. Their final move was back to Amarillo in 2013 where they resided for the remainder of their lives. Regardless of the location, Larry and Mozelle formed friendships that lasted decades. They attended the University Church of Christ in Canyon over 40 years and leave behind a loving church family.
Larry loved woodworking, while Mozelle enjoyed singing and playing the piano. For many years they square-danced with wonderful friends, and traveled many places to attend square-dance conventions. They also loved playing cards with their friends.
A loving and charitable couple, they supported mission works, fed college students at UCC, participated in visitations, as well as many other needs of the church. Larry and Mozelle selflessly participated in the Lord's work.
