Obituary for Kimberly "Kim" Rose

Kimberly “Kim” Rose, 58, of Hereford, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2019. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Graveside will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Monday, June 10, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Kim was born on September 5, 1960 in Odessa, TX to Duane Jake and Evelyn Marie Robinson Rose. She graduated from Canyon High School and received a Bachelor of Education Degree from West Texas State University. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching 4th grade for 2 years in Littlefield, before moving to Hereford where she taught 1st grade for 7 years, and spent the final 19 years of her career teaching kindergarten. Kim loved animals, especially cats, and the Humane Society of Deaf Smith County was very near and dear to her. She had a very generous and giving nature, and she loved her friends and family unconditionally. Potato chips and Kit Kat candy bars were never too far out of reach and she loved her Chevy Tracker. She thought Cara Dearing, her neighbor and friend, was the bravest and most energetic person she had ever known. Kim was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and her Daddy, Duane Jake Rose. Survivors include her mother, Evelyn Marie Rose, sister, Kathy Green, and nephew, Ryan Green, all of Canyon; Aunt, Judy Martin and husband, Irwin, or Des Moines IA; special cousin, Fred Hatchett of Amarillo, as well as numerous cousins, scattered across the nation; and all of her Hereford sisters and teaching friends. A special thanks to the nurses from Interim Health Care of Amarillo, the staff on the 3rd floor BSA Women’s Center and Dr. Thahir Farzan, her oncologist. Memorials can be made to Humane Society of Deaf Smith County, 3805 Progressive Rd, Hereford, TX 79045 or American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
