Obituary for KATHY OWEN MOONEY

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 30, 2012 at Brooks Chapel, with Chaplain Alan Williamson, Park Place Towers Central Retirement Community, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Kathy Ann was born on December 13, 1953 to Charles and Jessie Owen in Morton, TX. She was raised and went to school in Canyon. Kathy married Joe Mooney on August 3, 1998 in Laughlin, Nevada. While raising her two daughters, Kathy moved to Amarillo where she worked full time in sales from automobiles to furniture. She liked being in the public"s eye. She was a loving and caring individual. She later returned to Amarillo College where she received her LVN license that took her job career to The Ware Living Center in Amarillo. For 16 years, she loved working the in Alzheimer"s unit. She was a remarkable woman and was loved by all that knew her. She was also a realtor for the last 8 years. If she wasn"t working she was out with her sister shopping or looking for a good garage sale, or just hanging out with her daughters and her grandkids. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Owen, and her grandparents. Survivors include her husband, Joe Mooney; two daughters, Michelle Adcock and husband, Rod, of Canadian, and Misty Butler, of Canadian; three stepdaughters, Rachael and Vallerie Traugott, of Amarillo, and Holly Brown and husband, Butch, of Willis, TX; two stepsons, Joseph Mooney and wife, Holly, of Canyon, and Jason Osage and wife, Jennifer, of Amarillo; thirteen grandchildren, Lacey and Brooke Bull, Michaela and Makenna Adcock, Trevor and Bailey Brown, Aiden and Aubrey Osage, Devonte Traugott and Silas Traugott-Self, Josie Adams, and Josh and Alex Adcock; two sisters, Kay Weiss and husband, Richard, of Canyon, and Charlene Ritchie, of Amarillo; three brothers, Kerry Owen and wife, JoLynn, of Canyon, Jimmy Owen, of Huntsville, and Robby Owen and wife, Kandy, of Canyon; and numerous nieces and nephews. We all loved her dearly for this is not goodbye, it"s till we meet again. The family ask that donations be made to, the Children"s Ministry at City Church, 205 S.
