Obituary for JOHNY NORTHCUTT

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Dreamland Cemetery with Rev. Barry Loving officiating and Rev. Regi Fowler, soloist. Johny Northcutt was born on August 2, 1929 in Energy, Texas to Willis and Georgia McPherson Northcutt. He married his wife, Rhe Northcutt, of 46 years on January 30, 1965 in Clovis, New Mexico. He graduated from Pottsville High School, after he graduated he joined the Army and served during the Korean conflict. He later received a Bachelor"s degree from the University of North Texas. After he graduated he took a job with Corps of Engineers in Ft. Worth and was a member of the band Texas Old Timers. He then moved to St. Louis in 1967 where he served as a deacon at the Central Church of Christ. He moved to Killeen in 1981. After 37 years he retired from the Corps of Engineers and became active in the Killeen Food Bank and Central Christian Church. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhe Northcutt; parents, Willis and Georgia Northcutt; and brother, Robert Northcutt. Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Eudy, and husband, John, of Canyon; a sister, Mary Jo Armstrong, and husband, Keating, of Justin, Texas; grandchildren, Alisha Platts, and husband, Noel, of Amarillo, Craig Carnahan, of Canyon, and Brennan Eudy, of Amarillo; a great grandson, Dylan Ray Platts, of Amarillo; several cousins and one aunt. The family suggest memorials be sent to the L.I.F.E. Fund of First Christian Church of Amarillo, Texas, 3001 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, Texas 79109.
