Obituary for JOHN ANTHONY IRLBECK

John Anthony Irlbeck, 80, of Hereford, died Saturday, February 15, 2003 in Hereford. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of Hereford with Father Jim McGhee officiating. Rosary will be at 7:00 PM on Monday, Feb. 17, at Gilliland-Watson Funeral Home in Hereford. ***Viewing will be from 12:00 PM on Sunday through Monday at Gilliland-Watson Funeral Home in Hereford. ***The family will be at 214 Aspen in Hereford. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo. Mr. Irlbeck was born on August 1, 1922 in Happy, Texas to J.L. and Theresa Lange Irlbeck. He was a Veteran of World War II with the 166AAA gun battalion which served in the Pacific region. After his years in the service, Mr. Irlbeck was a farmer. He married Emma D. Joseph of Amarillo on June 17, 1967. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post #05681 of Canyon and also a member of the Senior Citizens of Hereford. He was a resident of King's Manor. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother, Ralph Irlbeck, and one sister, Roberta Artho. Survivors include two sisters, Teresa Tomsu, of Kress, and Marjorie Hollabaugh, of Amarillo; and five brothers, Ted Irlbeck, of Kerrick, Al Irlbeck, of Happy, Cyril Irlbeck, of Amarillo, Harold Irlbeck, of Copperas Cove, and Tom Irlbeck, of Denton. The family suggests memorials be to King's Manor Methodist Home, 400 Ranger, Hereford, Tx. 79045; or to St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 114 Sunset Drive, Hereford, Tx. 79045.
