Obituary for JOAN RATJEN MCDONALD

Service will be 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 10, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Happy with Rev. Bob Miller, pastor of South Georgia Baptist Church, officiating. The Burial will follow at Happy Cemetery. Viewing will be at Happy"s Memorial Chapel, 220 West Main, Happy, Texas. Joan McDonald was born on May 9, 1933 to Amos and Jettie Jo Dansby Ratjen in Randall County, Texas. She graduated from Happy High School in 1951. Joan married Reed McDonald on September 5, 1952 outside of Tulia, Texas. She was an employee at the First State Bank in Happy as a computer operator and teller. Joan was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served as a 5th and 6th grade Sunday School teacher for 25 years. She was also the Church treasurer for 7 years and an assistant for many years. Joan served as an officer in Order of Eastern Star, Woman"s Study Club, WMU, and Happy Senior Citizens. She was a lifetime resident in Happy, Texas. She enjoyed raising her family and being a housewife. Survivors include, her husband; Reed McDonald of the home, two daughters; Debi Adams and Glen Hamlin of Amarillo, and Donna Foster and husband, Steve of Lubbock, two sons; Terry McDonald and wife, Debbie of Amarillo, and Kelly McDonald and wife, Tricia of Damon, Texas, seven grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
