Obituary for JOAN FROST

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Holy Name Catholic Church of Happy with Msgr. Harold Waldo, pastor, officiating. Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Happy"s Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service at the Community Center in Happy. She will be buried in Happy Cemetery, Happy, Texas. Joan Frost was born on May 14, 1954 in Tulia to Loyd and Genevieve Beckman Nobile. She married Zeke Frost in San Jon, NM on March 21, 1974, and upon their marriage, she gained a daughter, Dawn. They live west of Happy on the family farm, where she was involved with the farming and ranching operation with her husband. She received her Bachelor of Science degree and was a retired RN. She served as organizational leader to the Happy 4-H club for two years. Joan was a member of the Happy FCE Club for 29 years, where she has served in local and state offices. Joan was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church and has served as pastoral council president, and held several offices in the Hereford Deanery. She is a member of St. Ann"s Altar Society and has served as past president and vice president. She also served as vice president for Happy Days Association. She was a member of Women"s Study Club of Happy and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Happy Volunteer Fire Department. She also served as past secretary of Panhandle Delta Zeta Sorority, and was a meals on wheels volunteer. She was named Swisher County Woman of the Year in 1996. She was active in anything involving the youth of Happy and was instrumental in helping to facilitate the new community center in Happy. Please sign the online registry at www.brooksfuneral.com. Survivors include her husband, Zeke Frost, of the home; one daughter, Dawn Gibson, and husband, Claud, of Corsicana, TX; two grandsons, Gavin and C.L. Gibson, of Corsicana, TX; her mother, Genevieve Case, of Amarillo; three brothers, Raymond Nobile, Jimmy Nobile, and David Nobile, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Sue Hilderbrand, of Georgetown, TX, Karen Daniel, of Aiken, SC, and Carol Crawford, of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to Happy Community Center % First State Bannk of Happy, 100 East Main, Happy, Texas 79042.
