Jo Ann Prichard Vandiver, 82, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022. Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Rev. Gene Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Jo Ann was born on November 28, 1940 in Canyon to Loyd and Annie (Washburn) Prichard. She grew up in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School in 1959. She worked at Taylor and Sons Grocery from 1970 to 1981 and married Samuel “Sam” Vandiver on August 3, 1981.

Jo Ann was a member of First Baptist Church of Canyon and the Red Hat Society. She loved visiting with people in Canyon and also loved to play Bingo at the VFW Post where she met Samuel. She loved her friends and had many. She took care of many family members and helped raise many children. She loved all her friends just like they were family. She enjoyed getting together with the ladies in Red Hat Society for many years.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Sam by just five months and a brother, Dwyane Prichard. Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Swartz; stepdaughter, Sue Ann Bawden; two stepsons, Jack Vandiver and Bob Vandiver; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two brothers, Weldon Prichard and wife, Ann and Ed Prichard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
