Obituary for JIMMIE W. WESLEY

Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the University Church of Christ in Canyon with Bob Crass, Senior Adult Minister at Central Church of Christ in Amarillo, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 30, from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Jimmie W. Wesley was born on February 13, 1936 in Canyon to Luther and Mildred Farquhar Wesley. He was a life time resident of Canyon and attended Canyon Schools. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. Jimmie married Lawauna Taylor in Plainview on August 22, 1962. She preceded him in death in 2009. He worked for Auto Convoy and Hadley Auto Transport from 1971 to 1996 and then worked for Panhandle Transit until 2005. He was a member of University Church of Christ and the Canyon Masonic Lodge #730. He was also preceded in death by his father, Luther Wesley, and two brothers, Raymond Wesley and Harley Wesley. Survivors include a son, Todd Wesley and wife, Lou Ann, of Amarillo; two daughters, Tracy Johnson and husband, Steve, of Canyon, and Terri Woodruff and husband, David, also of Canyon; his mother, Mildred Wesley, of Amarillo; two brothers, Leon Wesley, of Granbury, and Larry Wesley, of Amarillo; a sister, Becky Haralson, of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Jeni and Brandon Hutchison, Jordan Johnson, Brenna and Bodie Wesley, and Taylor and Danisen Woodruff; and one great grandson, Kaden Hutchison.
