Obituary for JIM REDDEN

Servivces will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor of Polk St. United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Jim Redden was born on October 9, 1946 to Edward and Mary Ruth Sudderth Redden. He graduated from Bovina High School and received his bachelor of science degree in accounting from West Texas State University. He married Debbie Edens at Bovina in 1968. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as president of the North Amarillo Lions Club and was honored to have received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award. He owned and operated Canyon Self Storage, as well as apartments and other rental properties in Canyon. Jim retired from Xcel Energy in 2006 after 31 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bovina. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and adored his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Redden, of the home; two sons, Trent Redden and wife, Shea, of McKinney, TX, and Brian Redden and wife, Lynda, of Frisco, TX; a daughter, Holly Ramsay and husband, Joseph, of Canyon; a sister, Joy Harmon, of Boerne, TX; a brother, Bob Redden and wife, Nancy, of Plano; seven grandchildren, Tyler , Reesey, and Brianna Ramsay, Clayson and Austin Redden, and Harreson and Meranda Ruth Redden; and three nephews, Blaine Redden and Kyle and Kip Gentry. The family suggests memorials be to Baptist St. Anthony"s Hospice, PO Box 950, Amarillo, Texas, 79176.
