Obituary for Jerry Lynn Judd

Jerry Lynn Judd was born on November 22, 1943 in Sherman, TX and departed this life on September 24, 2022 at Veteran’s Hospital in Amarillo, TX at the age of 79.

Jerry was the son of Augusta Ophelia (Hughes) & Ira Orin Judd. He enjoyed his childhood on Clayton Street in Borger, TX with his 2 older brothers (Jim & Joe) & 3 older sisters (Jane, Virginia & Martha Sue).
Jerry enlisted in the US Army in 1964 where he was sent to Germany then on to Vietnam. He was a proud United States Army Veteran! He received the bronze star & several accommodations while serving his country.

Jerry met & married Patricia (Males) Judd in 1980 and they lived in Borger. They have 2 children, Shawn Judd & Anita (Judd) Arbogast.

Jerry served as President of the Borger chapter of Ambucs.org where they raise money to help people with disabilities. He made lifetime friendships from his work there. He & his friends in Borger enjoyed dirt track racing. Jerry will be also remembered for his boot-scootin” dancing skills & his cowboy hat.

Jerry worked as an Instrument & Electrical designer at many engineering companies throughout his career. He worked for Fish Construction at Phillips Refinery in Borger, Celanese in Pampa, VECO in Bellingham, Jacobs in Texas City & Linde Engineering in Tulsa OK. He worked in Alaska for 7 years on the Alyeska pipeline in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Valdez loading terminal & at the North Slope in sub-arctic temperatures. He loved Alaska and spent his free time fishing & hanging out with co-workers. Jerry made many good friends everywhere he worked & he kept in touch with most of them throughout his life.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; Ira Orin & Augusta Judd; his brothers, Jim Judd, Joe Judd; sisters, Jane (Judd) Davis, Virginia Ann (Judd) Nelson, Martha Sue (Judd) Prater; his in-laws, Earl & Vonda Males.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Patricia Judd; children Shawn Judd & his wife, Brandi from Canyon, TX and Anita (Judd) Arbogast & her husband, Ben from Norfolk, VA; his grandchildren, Danielle (Judd) Hightower of Panhandle & her husband, Sean; Kaitlin Judd of Amarillo; and Diana Arbogast of Norfolk, VA; great-granddaughter, Hayley Hightower of Panhandle; his brother-in-law, Bobby Males of Amarillo. He had many nieces, nephews and extended family that will miss him greatly.

There will be a Celebration of Life soon & the date will be announced at that time. Jerry will be laid to rest with his parents & siblings in Pilot Grove Cemetery, Grayson County, TX.
