Obituary for JEROME ALBRACHT

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M. Monday, April 28, 2008 at St. Anthony"s Catholic Church in Hereford, Texas with Rev. John Valdez, celebrant, officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Hereford. Cremation under the direction of Brooks Funeral Directors. Private Interment. Jerome "Jerry" Albracht was born June 17, 1919 in Nazareth, Texas to John and Rose Huseman Albracht. He married Pauline Parker on June 24, 1942. Jerry entered the Army in July 1942 and was discharged, after World War II, in November of 1945. Upon his return to Hereford, Texas he and "Polly" opened the "Little Diner" where she made great pies and he was known to be both an excellent chef and lively entrepreneur. Throughout his life he was an avid musician. He could and would play any musical instrument, kitchen utensil, or gardening tool available. He was a beloved Son, wonderful Dad, an innovative Grandfather, loyal Brother, whimsical Uncle, and a solid Friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly. Survivors of Jerry include two daughters, Kay Bell and husband, Roy, of Amarillo, Gwen Broome, of Lubbock; two sons, Rich Albracht and wife, Linda, of Sacramento, CA, Terry Albracht and wife, Shelley, of Springtown, TX; six grandchildren,Heath Bell and wife, Kandi, of Canyon, Amy Newton and husband, Brent, of Canyon, Jamie Halsey and husband, Toby, of Roseville, CA, Kacy Wallis and husband, Chris, of Elverta, CA, Ryan Broome and wife, Anna, of San Marcos, Jordan Broome, of San Francisco, CA, Spencer Albracht and wife, Chana, of Celina, TX; great grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, and Maggie Bell, of Canyon, Rodey Newton, of Canyon, Siena Bella Halsey, of Roseville, CA; sister, Emmaline Kreigshauser, of Hereford, and two sister-in-laws, Ann Albracht, of Amarillo, Geraldine Jackson, of Amarillo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in his name to a charity of your choice.
