Services will be at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Palo Duro Cowboy Church with Bro. Shannon Moreland officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at Brooks Chapel. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Jennie Kay Stephenson was born on September 2, 1947 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Cleo and Dorothy Trulsen Scott. She was a graduate of Caprock High School in 1965 and married Joe Stephenson in Amarillo on June 3, 1977. She lived in the Canyon Area since 1989 and worked for the Maintenance Department for CISD for thirteen years. She was a member of Palo Duro Cowboy Church in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy E. Scott on June 13, 2009. Jennie was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be remembered for her sweet smile, her caring, and her giving heart. She will also be remembered for her courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include her husband, Joe Stephenson, of the home; two daughters, Sandra Kay Dyer, of Amarillo, and Cynthia Moss, of Fritch; two sons, Randy Stephenson, of Del Norte, CO, and Garye Stephenson, of Cleburne; her father, C. H. Scott, of Arlington; three sisters, Elizabeth Downing, of Arlington, Joyce Grider , of Iowa Park, and Jean Navarre, of Fairfax, VA; eleven grandchildren, Jeremy Stephenson, of Lubbock, Joel Stephenson, of New Orleans, LA, Wesley Stephenson, of Lubbock, Kylan Stephenson, of Cleburne, Cassy Boettcher, of Colorado Springs, Daniel Alderton, of Del Norte, Cory Dyer, of Canyon, Ashlie Stephenson, of Cleburne, Dustin Stephenson, of Del Norte, and Jayden and Jaylee Moss, both of Fritch; and nine great grandchildren.
