Obituary for Jeanett LaGrone
Jeanett LaGrone, 68, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021. Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Brooks Chapel with Britt McCarter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Brooks Chapel.
Jeanett was born on October 15, 1952 in Shamrock, Texas to Delmer and Maurine (Cole) Thomas. She was a 1971 graduate of Canyon High School and retired from the United States Postal Service in Amarillo.
Jeanett was a great cook and will be lovingly remembered for her chocolate pies and fried chicken. She also enjoyed gardening and blessed her family and friends with her decorating expertise in many ways. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and her family will cherish the special magic she created. Jeanett was a very compassionate person and was gifted at being a caretaker of other people. Anyone who knew her, knew you could always find her with a Coke in her hand.
Jeanett was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Del Thomas, Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Brandy Bahn and husband, Bobby and Andy Burris and husband, Trey; her sister, Patsy Griffin; four grandchildren, Bree Bahn, Brack Chenault and wife, Kaleigh, Stock Chenault, and Brett Chenault; and two great-granddaughters, Blake and Zoey Chenault.
Because of Jeanett’s love for plants, the family suggests memorials be to Amarillo Botanical Gardens, 1400 Streit Dr., Amarillo, TX 79106.
