Obituary for JAMES CONIVER WILLIAMS

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 29, 2007 at Brooks Chapel with Dr. Fred Fike, retired minister from First Church of Nazarene, Amos Williams, brother, retired minister from First Church of Nazarene in Kansas, and John Elser, VA Chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. The family will be located at 917 Meritta Lane, Amarillo, TX 79118. James Coniver "Jake" Williams was born on September 8, 1919 in Dardnelle, AR to Wesley and Emily Williams Carter. He married Era Baker at McLean on May 25, 1940. They were married for sixty-seven years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as an aviation engineer. He owned and operated Kelley Tire in Amarillo. He was a Christian and loved gospel music and going fishing. He was preceded in death by a son, James Coniver Williams, and a grandson, Nathan James Langham. Survivors include his wife, Era Baker Williams, of the home; two daughters, Lana Heronemus and husband, Clarence, of Amarillo, Tammy Bailey and husband, Brent, of Amarillo; one granddaughter, Julie Langham, of Amarillo; one grandson, Jason Heronemus, of Amarillo; two great grandsons, Joshua Patino, of Fritch, Nickolas James Langham, of Amarillo; one brother, Amos Williams, of Augusta, KS; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer"s Association, 2200 W. 7th, Amarillo, Texas 79106 or Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center, 6010 Amarillo Boulevard West, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
