Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 27, 2006 at First United Methodist Church in Canyon with Rev. Clark Williams, pastor, and Rev. Donna Johnston, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. Irene Parker was born on March 3, 1912 to J.E. and Rae Curyea Beagel in Dwight, Kansas. She graduated from Alta Vista High School and attended a two-year Business College. She married O.W. "Bud" Parker in Olathe, Kansas in 1941. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eastern Star, Board Member of Texas, and Hospital Auxiliary "Pink Lady". Irene volunteered at her church and with Boy and Girl Scouts. She was also an avid Bridge player. She was preceded in death by her husband, O.W. "Bud" Parker, in 2003, one brother, two sisters and one granddaughter. Survivors include, her daughter, Karen Mickey and husband, Vernon of Canyon; son, Craig Parker and wife, Catherine of Dallas; four grandchildren, Shelle Baker and husband, Keith of Alabama, Melissa Lawson and husband, Charles of Plainview, Lindsay Parker of Dallas, and Lexie Parker of Dallas; two great grandchildren, Kaitlin Lawson of Plainview, and Kristin Lawson of Plainview. Family requests memorials be sent to favorite charity.
