Obituary for Helen Louise Thompson
Helen Louise Thompson, 73, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Brooks Chapel with Jeremy Thompson, nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Wayside Cemetery, Wayside, Texas.
Helen was born August 31, 1947 in Marble, AR to Earl Wayne Head and Viola Ruth Cain. She worked extremely hard to get her BBA in Charter Property Casualty Underwriting and was loved and cherished by all her co-workers.
Helen married Bobby Gene Kirkland on June 6, 1965 and was divorced in 1983. Later she married the love of her life, Ralph Joseph Thompson, Jr., in Lubbock, TX on July 4, 1985. They later moved to Bedford, TX in 1989 and lived there until moving to Canyon in 2014. Helen was retired and enjoyed playing with her great granddaughter and working with her plants and wood working in the garage. One of her favorite things to do was to plan special birthday celebrations. After her cancer diagnosis it became too much for her, although she was planning something special for her husband this year.
Helen was preceded in death by her father, Earl Wayne Head, her mother Viola Ruth Head, her sister, Jesse Ann Hicks, her brother, Frank Head, and nephew, Johnny Wayne Hicks.
Helen is survived in death by her Loving husband, Ralph Thompson, Jr.; her children, Lori Williams, Jeff Kirkland, Angela Thompson, and Matthew Thompson; daughter-in-law, Lena; grandchildren, Sebastian Connell, Kayla Kirkland, Harley Scroggins, Clarissa, Jordan, Matthew, Mason, Mark, and Camille Thompson; and a great-granddaughter, Talya Chae Scroggins.
