Obituary for Helen L. Kendrick

Helen L. Kendrick, 90, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022. Memorial services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17, 2022 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon with Thomas Miller, chaplain of BSA Hospice of the Southwest officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 16, 2022 at Brooks Chapel.

Helen was born on December 28, 1931 in Centerville, AR to Charles D. and Nettie (Tilley) Gray. She married Jimmy Kendrick on July 12, 1949 in Bells Chapel, AR and they were married for 68 years before he preceded her in death.

Helen worked for Amarillo Independent School District as a Special Education assistant, retiring in 1994. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Amarillo. Helen loved gardening, cooking, and sewing as well as camping and fishing. She had the gift of hospitality and was a wonderful homemaker.

Helen was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Kendrick, a granddaughter, Sheri Cathey, and a great grandson, Dominic Jones. Survivors include two sons, Daniel Kendrick and wife, Sandra, and David Kendrick and wife, Delesa; five grandchildren, Keri Moore and husband, Kenneth, Adrianne McAlister and husband, Nick, Kristina Brown and husband, Aaron, Nonda Kendrick, and Nathan Churchill and wife, Kaci; nine great grandchildren, Cieli, Alysanne, and Coleden Wallace, Tyler and Declan McAlister, Cameron Brown, Caidyn Wheeler, Jayleen Jones, and Damian Grantham; and a brother, Charles Gray and wife, Renata.

The family suggests memorials be to the Missions Program at the First Assembly of God Church, 6101 Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109.
