Hector Hernandez, 53, of Canyon, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018. Vigil will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, July 13 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Canyon with Deacon Gabe Rivas, officiating. Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Robert A. Busch, Ph.D, officiating.  Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery. Hector was born June 13, 1965 in Lockney, Texas to Jesus and Odilia Hernandez. He married Anna Rodriguez on September 17, 1988 in Panhandle. He worked at Pitney Bowes for 31 years and loved his job. Hector was known for his charismatic personality. He was content and proud of what he had. He saw the good in everyone and everything. Nothing could slow him down. He portrayed dedication and positivity in all that he did. But more than anything he was incredibly proud of his wife and daughters. They were everything to him as were his dogs, Blackie and Zeus. Hector loved football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed disc golf and soccer. Cooking out with his family and friends was a favorite of his too. He is survived by his wife, Anna; two daughters, Serena and Cassi; parents, Jesus and Odilia Hernandez; five siblings, Manuel Hernandez and wife, Mary, Pedro Hernandez, Paublo Hernandez, Silvia Gonzalez and husband, Edwin, David Hernandez and wife, Cristine, and nineteen nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, PO Box 59, Canyon, TX 79015.
