Obituary for Greg Hartman

Greg Hartman, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. Services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Amarillo with Father John Valdez as celebrant. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Viewing will be from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 16th and from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Monday, October 17th at Brooks Chapel.

Greg was born on October 17, 1955 in Canyon to Elmer and Alta Mae Hartman and was a graduate of Canyon High School. He married Vicki Hope on April 19, 1996 in Amarillo. Greg owned and operated Hartman Erectors and Welding for 46 years, retiring in 2021. He also farmed and ranched for 20 years in Randall and Armstrong Counties.

Greg was constantly working and especially loved working cattle. He also enjoyed and spent many hours restoring old pickups and old tractors, and going to estate sales was one of his favorite pastimes. His family meant everything to him and he treasured spending time with his grandchildren and his dearly loved faithful canine companion, Gunner Hartman. Greg was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Amarillo.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Vicki Hartman; his son, Beau Hartman and wife, Melanie; his grandson, Tate Hartman; son, Kal Hartman and his four children; stepson, James Spraggins; stepdaughter, Jena Spraggins; three step-grandchildren, Lilly, Keely, and Van; and ten siblings, Ron Hartman, Keith Hartman, Bruce Hartman, Arlene Henry, Nancy Shepard, Hilda Farris, Peggy Johnson, Kevin Hartman, Gary Hartman, and Jerry Hartman.
