Obituary for GLENN CLARK WHEATLEY

Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at Brooks Chapel with Bill Holt officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mr. Wheatley was born on March 25, 1917 in Waxahachie, Texas to Boe and Ida Boren Wheatley. He married Ardalia Wells on July 2, 1938 in Posey, Texas. He was a long time farmer in Lynn and Garza counties and retired from Burlington Industries. He enjoyed fishing while living at Brownwood Lake and was an avid craftsman. Survivors include his wife, Ardalia, and their sweet dog Nikki, of the home; a son, Glenn Dale Wheatley, and wife, Clydus, of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Elaine Fertsch, and husband, Jim, of Lubbock; a sister, Helen Meeks, of Lubbock; two grandsons, Glenn Dale Wheatley, Jr., and wife, Sandi, of Cooper, and Terry Cunningham, of Sulphur Springs; four granddaughters, Elizabeth Hopkins, and husband, Dave, of Carrollton, Rebecca McGee, and husband, Robert, of Conroe, Shelly Downey, and husband, Dwain, of Amarillo, and Kim Ferguson, and husband, Ricky, of Canyon; seven great grandsons, Glenn Dale Wheatley, III, Joshua Cunningham, Baron, Tyler and Mason Downey, and Brian and Blake Ferguson; two great granddaughters, Shayna Wheatley and Becca Ferguson; several nieces and nephews and our special extended family at Canyon Health Care.
