1Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday August 21 at the University Church of Christ with Brent Adams, elder at Southwest Church of Christ in Amarillo, and Bob Loe, officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery. Glenn McKinney was born May 16, 1914 to Thomas and Dolah Ray McKinney in Hollis, Oklahoma. Glenn was a 1931 graduate of Gould, Oklahoma High School. He also graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1941 with a bachelor"s degree in animal science. Glenn was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp serving during World War II from 1942 - 1946. In 1947, he married Ruey Vaughan at Hollis, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in January of 1998. He moved to Canyon in 1976 from Earth, Texas. Glenn married Margarett Reid in September of 1998 at Canyon. Glenn was a member of the University Church of Christ and also a longtime member of the Canyon Lions Club. He was also preceded in death by three sisters and a brother. Survivors include his wife, Margarett, of the home; two nephews, Jim Holder, of Alva, OK, Bob Jones, of Woodward, OK; a niece, Helen Jo Poole, of Juneau, AK; a step-son, Jeff Reid and wife, Diane, of Canyon; a step-daughter, Terri Nickson and husband, Mark, of Canyon; and numerous other nieces, nephews, step-grandchildren, and step great grandchildren. The family suggests that memorials be made to High Plains Children"s Home, PO Box 7448, Amarillo, TX 79114 or to a favorite charity.
