Obituary for Glenda Ehly Gerber
Glenda Ehly Gerber, 67, of Canyon, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023. Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 24, 2023 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Nazareth with Father Nick Gerber as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. A Vigil will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon. Viewing will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday prior to the Vigil.
Glenda was born on February 1, 1956 in Camp Hanford, Washington State to Emil and Mary (Schumacher) Ehly. She graduated from Nazareth High School in 1974. Glenda married Roger Gerber in Nazareth on September 16, 1995, and he preceded her in death on July 8, 2022. She loved animals and enjoyed being a vet tech for many years.
Glenda also loved people and was a very caring person. She especially loved her nieces and nephews and always enjoyed having a menagerie of animals for their enjoyment. She was a gifted gardener and flowers, trees and plants flourished in her care. Glenda was never afraid to be who she was and will be lovingly remembered for her unique and entertaining personality.
Glenda is also preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Wayne and Lonnie Ehly.
Survivors include her mother, Mary Ehly; three sisters, Wanda Teafatiller and husband, Barry of Canyon, Cindy Gatz and husband, David of Amarillo, and Pam Upshaw and husband, Cody of Canyon; and she was a wonderful ‘other mother’ to several nieces and nephews.
