Obituary for GEORGE R. PENN

George R. Penn, 70, of Happy, died Sunday, November 10, 2002. Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 13, 2002 at the First Baptist Church of Canyon with Rev. Paul Burwash, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Happy, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery. Born in Happy, Texas, to Bill and Alice Penn on April 30, 1932. Was a member of the First Baptist Church, in Happy, TX. He served in the Armed Forces from 1952-1954 and was in the Korean War. He received a Good Conduct Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He was a Loving Husband, Father, Granddad, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Tommy Leslie Penn, two sisters Mary Alice Penn, Willie Faye Noel, and a grandson Ricky Lynn Kincade. Special thanks to all of the BSA Hospice Staff. His body will be available for viewing at Happy?s Memorial Chapel, 220 Main, Happy, Texas Tuesday 9am-8pm. Survivors include his wife, Sue Penn, of the home; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Debra and Charles Kincade, of Panhandle, Shirley and Eugene Calhoun, of Amarillo and Brenda Penn, of Canyon; one son and daughter-in-law, Derick and Sondra Collins, of Amarillo; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Sheryl and Terry Chavez,of Tucumcari, NM; one grandson, Dustin Penn, of Canyon; one sister, Charlotte Weavers, of Happy; two brothers and sisters-in-laws, Bill and Sandra Penn, of Amarillo and David and Kay Penn, of Sulpher Springs.
