Obituary for GARRET JOEL CAMPSEY

A vigil service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 10, 2008 at St. Ann"s Catholic Church in Canyon. Celebration of life services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, August 11, 2008 at St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Amarillo with Celebrant Rev. Scott Raef, St. Anthony"s Catholic Church in Dalhart, and Con Celebrants, Msgr. Harold Waldo and Rev. Nicholas Gerber, both of St. Mary"s Catholic Church in Amarillo, officiating. Garret Joel Campsey was sent from heaven October 1, 1983 to be the first angel of his parents, Doug and Helen. Garret loved life, and loved everything outdoors, especially camping, fishing, motorcycling, and skiing. He was a Troop 4 Eagle Scout, a 2002 graduate of Canyon High School, and a 2006 WTAMU graduate with a degree in International Business. He was employed by the Potter/Randall Appraisal District as a field appraiser. Garret was passionate about life, and filled with joy and happiness. Survivors include his parents, Doug and Helen Campsey; siblings, Gerald, Reanne, Eranne, and Hayden; fiance, Ashley Acton, of Canyon; grandparents, Tommy and Barbara Campsey, of Texline, TX, Cleo and the late CR Kennann, of Clayton, NM; and a host of extended family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Garret Campsey Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship Fund c/o Happy State Bank, 1908 4th Ave. Canyon, TX 79015 or any Happy State Bank in your area.
