Frank M. ‘Frog’ Robinson, 95, of Amarillo, passed to heaven on Friday, July 23, 2021. Services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Journey Church in Amarillo with Charles Jones, Senior Adult Pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 P.M. CST on Wednesday at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in San Jon, NM. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Brooks Chapel in Canyon.

Frank was born on April 20, 1926 to Benjiman and Nellie Robinson in Deaf Smith County, Texas. He grew up in Quay County near San Jon, NM where his family farmed. Life was good until the death of his father in 1932, when Frank was only six years old. Times became very hard for his mother and his six older siblings. The Great Depression had started and there were very few resources for them. He learned the skill of a cowboy and began working to help the family when only twelve years old. Horses served him well in work and pleasure most of his life.

At the age of 17, Frank received his draft notice and chose to join the U.S. Navy. It became his career, serving his country in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. At retirement after 23 years of service, he had achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer E7. Hard work was always his method, and he spent many hours mentoring young people, encouraging them to do the same. He was always willing to help a neighbor, friend, or family in need, and helped maintain the grounds of their church home. Frank was a member of Tucumcari Masonic Lodge #27 for over fifty years.

Frank was preceded in death by his first wife, Kay, siblings, Beulah, Raymond, Virgie, Rebecca, Pearl, and Benjiman, nephew, Jack Reed, niece, Lori Reed Howington, and stepson, Jeff Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Robinson; stepchildren-in-love, Tommy Smith and wife, Peggy, Mark Smith and wife, Deanna, Kelly Smith Hininger and husband, Dusty, and Terry-Cortez, wife of the late Jeff Smith; nieces and nephews, Joe Reed and wife, Betty, Ben Reed and wife, Lynette, Bill Reed and wife, Irene, Jim Reed and wife, Carol, J.L. Skeen and wife, Sharry, Vida and husband, Gary, Jimmy Vaughan and wife, Barbara, Rex Robinson and wife, Mary, Ray Robinson and wife, Arlene, Sally Robinson Mahon, Jean Vaughan Penny and their families; and a host of friends.

The family suggests memorials be to the Tucumcari Masonic Lodge #27, 203 S. 2nd St., Tucumcari, NM 88401 or to Journey Church, 9711 FM 2186, Amarillo, TX 79119.
