Obituary for FRAN STEVENS

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the Wayside Community Church with Byron Williamson officiating. Fran Stevens was born on March 8, 1947 in Brownwood, Texas. Her parents were Horace and Johnny Judkins. She graduated from Lubbock High School in 1965 and received her BBA degree from Texas Tech University in 1970. She married Larry Stevens in Lubbock on August 1, 1970 and they moved to Baxter Springs, Kansas. They then moved to Wayside in January of 1974 and Fran became the driving force behind the Wayside Emergency Team that was started in 1983. She was a member of the first paramedic class to graduate from Amarillo College in 1986, and was also an instructor at A.C. in the 80"s and early 90"s. She was a paramedic on the the W.E.T. for 25 years and served as treasurer for most of that time. She was a member of Wayside Community Church. She is remembered with joy as a loving and caring supporter of family, friends, and community. Fran is survived by her husband, Larry Stevens, of Wayside; daughter, Amanda McCarley and husband, Cory, of Happy; son, Steven Stevens and wife, Cynthia, of Wayside; sister, Margie Baumgardner, of Fresno, CA; mother and father-in-law, Montene and Clifford Stevens, of Wayside; five grandchildren, Cameron, Colton, and Aimee McCarley and Caleb and Alex Stevens. The family suggests memorials be to the Wayside Emergency Team, PO Box 131, Wayside, Texas 79094.
