Obituary for FOY E. MOUDY

Services will be 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the Happy Church of Christ with Rick Bloodworth, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Happy Cemetery. Foy Moudy was born on the 4th of July, 1921 in Altus, Oklahoma to Lella Foster Moudy and Robert Thomas Moudy, Sr. He graduated from Abilene Christian High School and attended Abilene Christian University. He served as Captain and B-24 bomber pilot in the 15th Air Force, U.S. Army Air Corp from January 1944 to October 1945. While stationed in Italy he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross among many other medals. He married Lucy Blake in Winfield, Kansas on October 13, 1945 and settled in Happy, Texas where he farmed and raised his family. He was a member of the Happy Church of Christ where he served as an elder from 1970 until his death. Survivors include his wife Lucy Moudy of the home; three sons, Eddie Moudy and wife, Beth of Earth, TX, Mark Moudy and wife, Susan of Happy, and Tim Moudy and wife, Mevlyn of Happy; two daughters, Anne Rollins of Lubbock, and Metta Paden and husband, Tim of Lubbock; seventeen grandchildren; sister, Bula Anderson and husband, Gordon of Lubbock; and brother, Alvin Moudy and wife, Mary of Happy; and many numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be sent to High Plains Children"s Home, P.O. box 7448, Amarillo, Texas 79114. The family also wishes to thank Mary Ann Cantu and Sandra Jacuinde for the loving care they gave our husband and father.
