Euva Mae Blanks passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 in Plainview, Texas. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Happy Church of Christ with Rick Bloodworth, minister, officiating. Burial will follow at Happy Cemetery. Euva was born in Hedley, Texas on November 7, 1918 to Robert Lee Duckworth and Maggie Ellen Upton Duckworth. She attended schools in Hedley and graduated in 1936. In 1939, she married Leroy Blanks and they lived in Amarillo until 1983. To this union were born two children, Donna and Bobby. She was a manager and buyer for Eva’s Fashions in Amarillo for 25 years and then opened her own women’s clothing store, The Hourglass. She and Leroy moved to Happy in 1983. Euva was a member of the Charter Chapter American Business Women’s Association and a charter member of the Tascosa Chapter in Amarillo. She was also a member of the Happy Church of Christ, the Happy Senior Citizens and served on the Advisory Board for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program in Tulia. She loved following all of her grandkids and great-grandkids in all of their school activities. She thought they were pretty amazing until her great-great grandkids came along and she said, “Life can’t get much better than this!” Euva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leroy, a daughter, Donna Geurin, three brothers, two sisters, and a son-in-law, Bryan Geurin. She is survived by her son, Bobby Blanks of Clayton, NM; a sister-in-law, Patsy Spier of Hedley; her grandchildren, Lori Hill and husband Dennis of Colleyville, Lee Walker and wife Sonia of Muleshoe, Lisa Johnson and husband Jody of Vega, Kristi Flatt and husband Brad of Happy and Jeff Blanks and wife Breanna of Clayton, NM; great grandchildren, Kris and Michelle Hill, Cody and Kelsey Hill, Trent and Liz Walker, Brooke Walker, Trevor and Amanda Johnson, Braden Johnson, Brent Johnson, Kolby and Tesla Flatt, Kolton and Brittany Flatt, Zack Flatt, Kelsie and Hayden Hill, Flint Blanks and Quay Blanks; and great-great grandchildren, Tristan, Jaxon, and Ayden Hill, Beckham and Shep Johnson, Tralee and Quincee Johnson, Jentry and Jaylen Flatt, and Kopelynn Flattt. She is also survived by her favorite niece, Kay, as well as several other nieces and nephews and her wonderful caregivers at Westridge Manor and Kindred Hospice. The family suggests memorials be made to Happy Senior Citizens, PO Box 395, Happy, TX 79042 or to Happy Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 216, Happy, TX 79042.
